travel turkey kusadasi around the city 1978
On my first visit to this city in 1978, it had the feel of a real third-world city.
The center of town near the dock felt relatively small and commercial enterpises were undeveloped.
Not more than a couple blocks off the main street, I almost felt I had stepped back into history.
Streets were unpaved and populated by traditionally dressed citizens going about their business.
I had the feeling that some of the locals were just beginning to realize the economic possibilities of new tourism.
